About Alma

Alma is a certified yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance. She has been practicing since 2000 and teaching since 2003, with experience in alignment based yoga, prenatal, restorative, and kids. Alma is part of the University of Memphis faculty, teaching yoga credit courses, including history, philosophy, anatomy and therapeutics.

Alma has also been a Reiki master since 1998.

Alma’s professional career is in engineering with a master in business administration. After almost 10 years at FedEx in the Marketing department, Alma decided to pursue her true calling. She resigned from FedEx in order to help people find balance and peace in their busy lives through yoga, meditation, and Reiki.

Alma is originally from Romania, and lived in 6 countries throughout her life. She spent most of her formative years in Argentina and therefore she considers herself half Romanian and half Argentinean. She and her husband have been living in Germantown, TN for the last 14 years, so she considers herself now a Memphian.

Having herself gone through the process, Alma believes that yoga is a form of inner exploration that allows us to find who we truly are, bringing healing to body, mind and spirit. When we do yoga, our centers of energy (chakras) are awakened, bringing a sense of wellbeing and peace. As our practice deepens, our hearts open to unveil what lies within.
